Motoring Memorabilia
Peoples' enthusiasm for motoring is reflected through the amount of memorabilia that can be seen in the museum. We have showcases crammed to the brim of practical items like spark plugs, brake fluid tins and carbide pots to name just a few, to free gifts from companies like Esso and BP: who have given out in their histories everything from pen-knifes, cocktail sticks, childrens games, smoking kits and sets of cards to advertise themselves. When surrounded by all these objects you can experience a real sense of the excitement towards motoring at the time.

Alongside of motoring our showcases have a large collection of crested collectables, clothing, cameras, picnic sets, crockery sets and treasured decoration like our 1920's art deco racing car tea-pots to set the scene.
Whilst looking in the showcases, lets not forget everything else in this eclectic collection: the glass petrol globes lighting up their petrol manufactures logo, hand operated pumps, brightly coloured two-gallon petrol cans, a canoe, gramophones, televisions, model aeroplanes and many, many bicycles from tandems to circus bikes hang above your head.
With the large variety of collectables we have for you to explore, you could be interested in these items for a variety of reasons, whether its nostalgia, to make money, their design or just a mild interest, we can all learn from the memorabilia and get a glimpse of the part it has played in our motoring history.
