Motor Collection

The Cotswold Motoring Museum car collection is full of cars you had and cars you only dreamt of owning. How many of you can spot the car you learnt to drive in or our 1970s caravan where you spent your long summer holidays?

Some key exhibits include our London taxi which has over 700,000 miles on the clock and has visited most major cities in Europe, whilst the Jaguar Xk140s sleek black lines are there to be drooled over. Many of the cars are what you, your father or grandfather will have driven as their first car: the Morris Minor or the Austin Seven, whilst for those who know them, the MGs are always a favourite. One of our new acquisitions, a mustard coloured Mini clubman from 1972, has only had one lady driver and is the ultimate in low cost motoring continuing the standards established by Austin and Morris.

Not only do we have our 30 cars on database for you to admire, we have the details of all our motorbikes and caravans available too.

Our caravans are from the 1920s and 1970s. Can you imagine sleeping a family of four in one of those?

As part of our vehicle collection we also have several motorcycles and scooters some of the more famous among the collection is the Levis owned by Harold Breach. Motorcycle football was once very popular in Gloucestershire and often attracted crowds of over 10,000 supporters. Our Levis belonged to Harold a well known player for Gloucester. A new exhibition about motorcycle football is planned for our new gallery.

Another bike to have a look at on our database is the Brough Superior, regarded as a super bike capable of high speeds, nicknamed by many 'the widow maker' because of the large number of fatalities, most notably Laurence of Arabia was killed on his Brough Superior.
